Jedes Haus ist für eine Wärmepumpe geeignet, wirklich jedes. Manchmal in Verbindung mit der bestehenden Heizung zur Unterstützung meistens jedoch als monovalentes System. Meist sind es zwar Luftwärmepumpen, die bessere Alternative jedoch ist die Sole- oder Erdwärmepumpe. Ein enormes, stets verfügbares Energiepotential steckt in der Erde, das Verfahren ist umweltfreundlich und macht unabhängig vom Erdöl und Gas. Eine Erd Wärmepumpe, die die Energie entweder horizontal als Erdkollektor oder vertikal als Erdsondenbohrung angezapft, ist mit einem Leistungsfaktor der über vier liegt, (d.h. einen Teil an Energie muss man mit elektrischen Strom liefern die restlichen vier Teile kommen aus Erdwärme hinzu) eine der besten Heizmöglichkeiten, die man im Haus haben kann. Erdwärme kann – im Gegensatz zu Wind-, Wasser- und Solarenergie – zu jeder Zeit und bei jedem Wetter genutzt werden. Betrachtet man Vor und Nachteile von Geothermie weiter, dann wird klar, dass Erdwärme außerdem über einen schier unerschöpflichen Vorrat verfügt. Der Nachteil, man braucht einen Platz im Garten oder vor dem Haus um die Bohrungen bzw. die Kollektoren anzubringen, ein weiterer ist der Preisunterschied zu einer normalen Luftwärmepumpe, der ca. 20 % höher liegt. Eine interessante Möglichkeit ist es auch mittels Energiezaun oder Massivabsorber die Naturwärme anzuzapfen. Ein Energiezaun der Fa. Schlemmer wird auf eine gewisse Länge ca 10-17 m aufgebaut kann begrünt werden und liefert kostbare Energie. So wird ein Teil der Erdwärme und ein Teil der Luftwärmegenutzt, ähnlich einer Hybridanlage. Der Platzbedarf solcher Systeme ist sehr gering und kann auch mittels Gabionen, die die Fa Ikratos aus Weißenohe entwickelt hat kombiniert werden. Ein Massivabsorber ist ein Betonblock der mit großer Oberfäche dem Erdreich aber auch der Oberflächen Temperatur Wärme entzieht. Ähnlich verhält es sich mit den Solar Stones die eigens für die Oberflächenabsorption entwickelt wurden. "Ein bisschen Physik muß man beim Errechnen der Wärmequlle und beim Zusammenspiel mit der Heizleistung und Stromaufnahme beachten, um dem Hausbesitzer ein Gesamtkonzept errechnen zu können," so Willi Harhammer, Wärmepumpenspezialist und Geschäftsführer der iKratos GmbH aus Weißenohe bei Nürnberg. "Zudem kann man Wärmepumpen mit Speicher ideal mit der Energieerzeugung von Photovoltaikanlagen kombinieren. Mit der ständigen Verfügbarkeit und der Umweltfreundlichkeit im Hinblick auf Kohlendioxid-Ausstoß und Smogbildung bietet diese Energieform gravierende Vorzüge, denn der Wirkungsgrad im Gegensatz zu einer Luftwärmepumpe ist um 20-30 % höher. Weiterhin schont Geothermie unsere nur begrenzt vorhandenen konventionellen Energieressourcen und schafft eine Unabhängigkeit von der unsicheren Entwicklung der Fördermengen und Preise von Erdöl. Eine in Deutschland mittlerweile sehr weit verbreitete Nutzungsform der Geothermie ist die Hausbeheizung mit einer Erdwärmepumpe, die dann auch zur Warmwasserbereitstellung eingesetzt wird. Darüber hinaus kann mit einer solchen Pumpe im Optimalfall bei sommerlichen Temperaturen sogar eine Kühlung betrieben werden. Wärmepumpen Fachbetriebe wie iKratos aus der Metropolregion Nürnberg, Fürth Erlangen bietet eine besondere Erd-Wärmepumpen Beratung und haben bereits über 130 Wärmepumpen eingebaut. Eine Erdwärmepumpe ist extrem leise, zudem ist der Motor bzw. Kompressor im Haus installiert. So gehen lediglich Rohre in den Erdboden, der später zum Bepflanzen wieder genutzt werden kann.
