Eine moderne Photovoltaikanlage liefert Strom direkt ins Haus. Der Strom wird direkt im Haus verbraucht. Direkt erzeugter Strom vom Dach kann auch gespeichert werden. Zuviel erzeugter Strom wird ans EVU verkauft. Was noch fehlt kommt aus dem Netz und wird wie üblich mit der Stromrechnung verrechnet. Bei Photovoltaikanlagen kann man die Mehrwertsteuer zurückerhalten und steuerlich abschreiben. Photovoltaikmodule halten ca 35 Jahre.
