IMA Group, through its E-COMMERCE division—an innovator in E-Fulfillment, Intralogistics, and 3PL packaging solutions—is proud to announce its participation at LogiMAT 2025. As one of Europe’s premier events dedicated to intralogistics solutions and process management, LogiMAT will be held from March 13th to 15th, 2025, bringing together industry experts, innovators, and businesses from around the globe to explore the latest trends and technologies.

This year, IMA E-COMMERCE will showcase its state-of-the-art technologies and industry-leading innovations at Hall 6, Stand 6B18. At the center of attention will be the E-CO Flex packaging system—a versatile family of machines designed to streamline and accelerate the packaging process. The E-CO Flex series comprises a variety of technologies tailored to meet the diverse needs of the E-Commerce sector, ranging from automated case erectors and formers to height-reduction case closers and lid applicators.

Highlights of the E-CO Flex System

E-CO Flex Forming Module (on show)

Visitors to LogiMAT will experience the E-CO Flex Forming module in action, demonstrating its user-friendly and efficient packing process. The machine integrates seamlessly with a customer’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) to automatically select the best-fit box for the products being packed. Once the ideal case is identified, the blank is picked from the magazine, erected, and the bottom is sealed using sustainable water-activated tape. The pre-assembled container is then presented to the operator, who inserts the items and secures them with the required dunnage.

E-CO Flex Closing Module

The E-CO Flex Closing module completes the packaging process. Operators insert the open-faced case into the machine, which measures the void within the box. If unnecessary space is detected, the machine reduces the box height and closes it, folding the flaps to fit the adjusted dimensions.

This modular system can function as stand-alone equipment or be combined to form a fully automated packaging station, accommodating diverse plant configurations. By integrating right-sizing capabilities, the E-CO Flex series allows e-tailers to consolidate multiple stations into a single unit, enhancing productivity, minimizing material usage, and reducing dimensional (DIM) weight-based shipping costs.

E-CO Flex SealMatic

The E-CO Flex SealMatic further elevates packaging efficiency with its automated random case sealing capabilities. This high-speed machine processes FEFCO 201 cases by folding the top flaps and sealing both the top and bottom with water-activated tape, handling up to 20 boxes per minute. Optional features include hazardous material (hazmat) label application, print-and-apply shipping labels, and quality inspection cameras to verify flap folding and tape application.

New Developments for 2025

E-CO Flex XL Modules

IMA’s commitment to innovation is evident in the new XL versions of the E-CO Flex Forming and Closing modules. Designed to handle a broader range of box sizes, the XL modules retain the core benefits of the E-CO Flex series. They are capable of erecting FEFCO 201 and FEFCO 200 cases in both single-wall and double-wall corrugated cardboard formats, achieving a speed of up to 10 cases per minute with high autonomy case magazines, minimizing the replenishment time and ensuring the refilling of the cases while the machine is in motion.

E-CO Flex Lidding

Another addition is the E-CO Flex Lidding module, which automates the application of right-sized lids. Equipped with height-reduction capabilities, the machine optimizes case dimensions based on contents and applies lids to multiple box sizes with precision and efficiency. Supporting up to six different lid formats, the E-CO Flex Lidding module enhances throughput and operational reliability.

Sustainable and Scalable Solutions

Designed for both greenfield and brownfield sites, the E-CO Flex series adapts to the fast-changing needs of logistics flows. With a focus on sustainability, these systems reduce material usage by minimizing void fill and optimizing case dimensions, offering significant environmental and cost benefits.
