The digital transformation is reaching the service station industry. It entails two key developments in particular: digitization of all business processes and extensive networking of all market participants such as service station operators, suppliers, forwarders, regulators and customers. This will open up unprecedented opportunities for oil and gas companies, but will also raise a number of questions: Which specific processes, ideas and technologies exist for the transformation in the value chain and what preparations can companies make to gain maximum benefit for themselves? Visitors to UNITI expo will obtain answers from Implico in hall 3, where the downstream experts will discuss all questions concerning networking, data management and automation at stand 3B73.
Transforming knowledge into value
Transforming knowledge into value is the slogan for the trade fair exhibit by the international software and consulting company. With this slogan, Implico describes how knowledge of business processes and their automation makes service station networks more efficient, creating value such as competitiveness and sustainability. The downstream experts will provide information on the technologies behind this, such as the SAP RFNO solution, using specific case studies from the market.
Greater success with smart data and automation
"The service station market of the future consists of market participants that are completely interconnected," explains Torsten Peter, Managing Partner at Implico and the executive responsible for SAP sales activities in the Group. "Thanks to digitization, service station operators can achieve previously unrivaled transparency in their business processes and also expand their range of services. Other processes can be automated at the same time."
For example, SAP RFNO already connects the knowledge available in the supply chain and creates interfaces for communication. In addition, the solution displays the entire economic situation of service station networks in real time – including all revenues and inventories. Extensive evaluation and control mechanisms simplify and automate payment card, fleet card and dealer settlement.
One of the particular highlights is that SAP RFNO redefines automation using smart calculations: service stations' gasoline requirements are determined taking multiple parameters into account and automatically trigger replenishment orders. What is more, using the pricing module service station operators can dynamically determine the best price at which to sell their fuels.
