With the migration to OpenTAS 5.0, Implico has significantly optimized the terminal operations processes of TanQuid Polska, part of the TanQuid Group. To do this, the international consulting and software company first generated a new data structure. TanQuid's Polish site was then able to go live with OpenTAS 5.0 in the second quarter. As a result, processes at the site are now much more efficient.
It was very challenging to arrange the necessary test operations at the site, which has 25 storage tanks with a total capacity of 136,600 cubic meters and operations which run non-stop seven days a week throughout the year. It was necessary to keep the unavoidable interruptions to a minimum and ensure that terminal operations continued. Thanks to the extensive expertise and thorough preparation of the software experts from Implico, both the tests and the go-live went smoothly.
Biofuel blending was another challenging aspect at the Radzionkow terminal. During this process, a biofuel component is added to the fuel at the filling station. Polish law requires physical proof of the biofuel content, and the bill of lading must be accompanied by dynamic biofuel certificates. To meet these requirements, Implico developed a customized solution for the site and integrated the necessary biofuel bookkeeping functions into the new release of OpenTAS.
OpenTAS 5.0 has been available since the start of the year and offers many new features and improvements compared to its predecessor, such as simplified terminal object management, interface monitoring and optimized automation. Other new features include support for 64-bit operating systems and a more user-friendly interface.
