"Die saarländische Wirtschaft hat konjunkturell das Schlimmste überstanden. Es geht bereits wieder leicht aufwärts, so dass der Anstieg der Arbeitslosigkeit mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit nicht so stark ausfallen wird, wie noch vor einiger Zeit befürchtet. Darauf deuten auch die heute (01. September 2009) von der Regionaldirektion der Bundesagentur für Arbeit vorgelegten Arbeitsmarktzahlen hin". Überdies stabilisierten die Neuregelungen beim Kurzarbeitergeld den Arbeitsmarkt. Sie würden es den Unternehmen erleichtern, ihre Stammbelegschaften über das Konjunkturtal hinweg zu halten, so Giersch.
