IHK warnt vor Abmahnungen wegen Google Fonts

Aktuell erhalten etliche Unternehmen Schreiben von Rechtsanwälten, in denen sie zu einer Schadenersatzzahlung aufgefordert werden. Abgemahnt wird die datenschutzwidrige Einbindung von Google Fonts, also Schriftarten, die von Google zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Hintergrund ist ein Urteil des Landgerichts München von Anfang des Jahres, wonach die dynamische Einbindung von Google Fonts ohne Einwilligung datenschutzwidrig ist. Unternehmen, die die Schriftarten von Google benutzen, wird dringend empfohlen, die Schriftarten lokal auf die Internetseite einzubinden. Nur so wird sichergestellt, dass bei Besuch der Internetseite keine Verbindung zu den Google-Servern aufgebaut wird.
