Protection against cyber attacks: Strong network security with the SDoT Secure Network Card

(PresseBox) (Köln, )
infodas, an Airbus subsidiary specializing in cyber and IT, is unveiling its latest product, the SDoT Secure Network Card. Alongside a high level of integrity, the network card offers effective protection against supply chain attacks. The SDoT Secure Network Card can be used, by way of example, by operators of critical infrastructures, payment processors, as well as public authorities and the military. In the cloud and infrastructure sector, too, the cybersecurity tool offers the very highest levels of secure protection for in-house IT infrastructure. The hardware is approved up to the NATO SECRET classification level.

Featuring the latest generation of network security, the product reduces the risks to the integrity of host systems to a minimum. The public sector, the German armed forces, the defense industry and critical infrastructures are increasingly becoming a target for threat actors. This is precisely where the SDoT Secure Network Card comes into play. The transparent range of features successfully fends off attacks on the supply chain. The risk of Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) is also reduced significantly. This attack method involves saboteurs with in-depth technical expertise targeting a system over a prolonged period. Advantage of the infodas solution: sensitive data is processed in hardware. This means that companies and users retain full access to their business-critical data. The cybersecurity solution effectively prevents unauthorized access to management functions from the network.

‘The SDoT Secure Network Card is the perfect addition to our certified SDoT product family. The tamper-proof network card exchanges information securely between the hardware and the operating system. Scrambling the data traffic protects the transmitted data and components of the host systems from unauthorized access. The SDoT Secure Network Card is therefore the only product to date that fulfills the VS requirements profile 'Secure Network Card' of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI)’, explains Dr. Malte Rast, Principal Product Certification at infodas.

The network card is manufactured and designed in Germany based on security-by-design principles. This approach means that infodas takes the security requirements for software and hardware into account as early on as during the product development stage in order to rule out vulnerabilities later on down the line. Real-time communication prevents transmission delays so that systems are permanently accessible. The German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) has approved the product with BSI-VSA-10331. The SDoT Secure Network Card is approved for classification levels DEU SECRET, EU SECRET and NATO SECRET.
