Am letzten Wochenende hat mapdial seinen pre-Test auf dem Nürburgring gleich mit einem Doppelsieg beim 24-Stunden-Rennen beendet.
mapdial ist ein Application-Framework für die Entwicklung von Anwendungen mit mobiler Datenübertragung über GPRS-Funknetze und wurde am Nürburgring einem letzten Härtetest vor der Markteinführung unterzogen. So waren die Renningenieure von Anbeginn über Kraftstoffverbrauch, Motortemperatur, Geschwindigkeit oder Drehzahl und andere Messwerte rund um die Uhr informiert. mapdial ist mit dem leistungsfähigen infoware-Produkt mapsuite kombiniert worden, um geographische GPS-Daten anzuzeigen und auszuwerten (live GPS-Tracking). Auch der Rennsportdirektor nahm in Spanien live an dem Rennen teil. Er konnte alle Daten mit T-Mobile MDA per GPRS in Echtzeit sehen.

mapdial ist ein aus dem Rennsport abgeleitetes neues Produkt für Entwickler. Basis ist das infoware Telemetriesystem MITS (Mobile Internet Telemetry System) das von infoware entwickelt wurde und mit Unterstützung von T-Mobile am Nürburgring eingesetzt wird.
