Die Schulung ist stark praxisorientiert und beleuchtet sowohl die internen Arbeitsabläufe als auch die die externen Prozesse, die bei der Zusammenarbeit mit Zulieferern und Kunden beachtet werden müssen. Ein wichtiger Programmpunkt ist die Vorbereitung auf die Umsetzung des Erlernten im eigenen Betrieb.
Nicht zuletzt werden in der Schulung auch die Konsequenzen aus der neuen Norm DIN EN ISO 12100:2011-2 erklärt. Diese sogenannte Typ-A-Norm löst im Februar die bisherigen Normen DIN EN ISO 14121-1:2007-12, DIN EN ISO 12100-1:2004-04 und DIN EN ISO 12100-2:2004-04 ab. Sie beschreibt unter anderem, welche Schutzeinrichtungen für Kraftübertragungselemente und bewegliche Teile angewendet werden dürfen.
