Innerhalb weniger Jahre haben sich Fassaden aus feuerverzinktem Stahl in der modernen Architektur etabliert. Sie verleihen Gebäudeoberflächen eine einzigartige metallische Anmutung und sind dabei dauerhaft und robust. Da feuerverzinkter Stahl seit Juni 2010 im Fassadenbau auch normungstechnisch für die Tragkonstruktion, die Fassadenbekleidung und die verwendeten Verbindungselemente geregelt ist, sind baurechtliche Zustimmungen im Einzelfall für feuerverzinkte Fassaden nicht mehr notwendig. Das Special "Feuerverzinkte Fassaden" des Industrieverbandes Feuerverzinken zeigt vielfältige Einsatzmöglichkeiten von feuerverzinktem Stahl im Fassadenbau, beispielsweise als Fassadenbekleidung in Form von Gitterrost-, Blech-, Streckmetall- oder Lamellenfassaden.

Feuerverzinkte Fassadenelemente sind wirtschaftlich und langlebig gegen Korrosion geschützt. Sie sind eine echte Alternative zu vielen Fassadenwerkstoffen, da sie großflächig elementierte Fassaden mit lebendig wirkenden Oberflächen schaffen. Unter Nachhaltigkeitsgesichtspunkten ist feuerverzinkter Stahl ebenfalls eine gute Wahl. Die langlebige Feuerverzinkung trägt zur Ressourcenschonung bei, verbraucht im Vergleich mit anderen Korrosionsschutzverfahren deutlich weniger CO2 und kann ohne Qualitätsverlust recycelt werden.
