Ports for Offshore Wind Parks

(PresseBox) (Berlin, )
Offshore wind presents a wealth of opportunities for Europe to generate an increasing amount of energy from renewable energy - ports play a vital role in supporting the European offshore wind developments, especially through port cooperations. Learn more about this topic at IQPC’s Ports for Offshore Wind Power Installation & Maintenance Conference 20 - 22 June, 2012 in Bremen. Meet representatives from the most important ports in Europe and discuss current challenges and opportunities in adapting ports for offshore needs.

The European Union is committed to generate 20% of its needed energy supply from renewable sources by 2020. In order to harness the energy from offshore wind park, European ports need to prepare to meet the challenges that now exist, concerning e.g. transportation and supplies.

IQPC’s international conference is concerned with current methods for port redevelopment as well as infrastructure for installation, just to name the most important topics.
Presentations will entail the following topics:

• Port infrastructure
• Regulations affecting the ports industry
• Vessel requirements

Learn from experts and port managers directly involved in current challenges how to best deal with them. Among them are Frank Schnabel, Managing Director of Brunsbüttel Ports, Bjarne S. Jacobsen, Manager of Harbour Sites & Transport Logistics at DONG Energy and Jim O’Toole, Managing Director of The Port of Mostyn.

Get some hands-on experience at our interactive workshops on Wednesday, 20 June:
