The addition of the Apple OS X expands the isphone range, which now runs on all major operating systems (Windows, Linux, OS X). New modular OEM renting models are covering the market needs for hosted solutions like Softwareasa-Service (SaaS).
iscoord integrates stateofthe art softphone technology into Lotus Notes, Lotus Sametime and Microsoft Outlook/Live Messenger by leveraging legacy IP telephony systems and servers. With no investment into middleware, isphone increases productivity by turning every Windows, Linux or Mac desktop into an integrated and full feature phone/video workplace, enabling both audio and video conference calls as well as presence features.
With the launch of its new isphone V8.5, iscoord now supports all major operating systems and offers the comfort of integrated IP telephony within Lotus Notes and Sametime to the Mac community. "Apple OS X is increasingly being used in business environments", states Markus Sieger, CEO and President of iscoord. "We are following these market trends, and free trials are ready for download." Other highlights of the new isphone V8.5 include enhanced video & audio call and conferencing capabilities, hook support for GN Netcom/Jabra and Plantronics devices, including enhanced audio & video device handling as well as road warrior features, a new toolkit with APIs for access to over 200 functions and features, support for Dutch, English, French and German as well as for multiple SIP accounts.
In response to the growing demand for hosted unified communications (UC) solutions, iscoord cooperates with leading industry partners in offering isphone as a "Softwareasa-Service" (SaaS). New OEM business models introduced by iscoord give telecom operators and other service providers the possibility to offer modular, integrated IP telephony easily and with attractive renting models. Due to the modular setup of the isphone softphone technology, hosting service providers are able to introduce competitive SaaS offerings with upgrade options. This results in a very attractive and flexible service offering, enabling customers to grow their infrastructure based on their current and future needs. "The IT industry is increasingly looking for possibilities to enhance their UC SaaS offerings with integrated VoIP facilities", states Rolf Kuster, Head of Development and Support at iscoord ag. "We work closely with main players adding IP telephony to their existing services by adding integrated softphone technology to their existing SIP and UC platforms. Our understanding of technology allows us to meet the development needs of our customers and to continuously develop our softphone according to the needs of this emerging market."
