Customers can collect miles on their account with each booking. The tour operator can control in a table the amount of miles that can be collected in relation to the value of the booking.
It is also possible for customers to pay a trip with the collected miles. The payment can be made for the full value of the booking or just for a part of the value. The system provides for a conversion table in which the operator can define the amount of miles that is necessary to “pay” for a certain value of a booking.
A special feature is the interface to external bonus mile programmes. This way the actual mileage status of the customer can be queried online in the external system (i.e. in a programme of an associated airline). And the booking will only be finished, if the customer has enough miles on the external account.
In return, the miles that were spent for the booking are reported to the external system in order to reduce the account of the customer accordingly.
Thus, the new module can be used by tour operators...:
- Who accept bonus miles as payment method, either from their own operation or from external partners.
- Who allow the collection of bonus miles during a booking
The interface must be adapted to the individual systems of the external partners.
