Electronic and mechatronic component suppliers to automotive and medical equipment manufacturers have to comply with tighter product liability requirements which necessitates the implementation of a database-based traceability solution. Until now, the equipment integration was often expensive and performed under extreme time pressure. For example, if problems occurred in connection with the integration of an equipment module from Korea when commissioning a final assembly line in Mexico, this meant considerable time and productivity losses. Now the Korean equipment manufacturer can test its interfaces using the iTAC cloud-based MES in advance and ship the equipment to Mexico with a plug & play interface.
iTAC has created a centralized data centre infrastructure that meets maximum security requirements while reducing commissioning costs, minimising project risks and enabling the on-time implementation of global MES solutions.
Cloud-based test and production systems
An iTAC customer with global operations has already decided to introduce cloud-based test systems. It is also planning the central operation of iTAC.MES.Suite 7 production systems. This central infrastructure is facilitated by the scalable, highly-available and platform-independent iTAC.ARTES technology platform on which the iTAC MES is based.
