Interactive TV-applications and electronic program guides successfully established by GIST Communications Europe are now part of open end-to-end solutions for broadcast and IP-broadband, marketed by the newly founded international corporation iTV Solutions. Former GIST-managers Ned Wiley and Georg Müller-Loeffelholz have purchased the German office from Gist’s US parent company and combined it with the new iTV Solutions GmbH led by managing directors Dr. Thomas Baubin and Dr. Bengt Skogvall.
Existing R&D and office facilities in Berlin are now to be enhanced within the new framework of iTV Solutions GmbH. The internationally renown EPG-solutions become part of open end-to-end solutions that combine broadcast with IP-based content-offerings and interactive services.
Dr. Thomas Baubin explains the goal of the combination: ”Ned Wiley and Georg Müller-Loeffelholz, together with their R&D team in Berlin, have built an internationally recognized competence center for interactive TV services. The established business relationships with cable network operators, publishing houses, soft- and hardware manufacturers are valuable assets that we will incorporate in our application solutions across the full range of television distribution platforms for the content and commerce sectors.”
