Außer den Verbindungswellen der Reihen WDS, WDE und WD-VA bietet Jakob noch eine weitere Standardbaureihe und kundenspezifische Lösung für die Überbrückung großer Achsabstände an: Die auf Elastomerkupplungen der Reihe EKH basierende Reihe EKHZ. Der Einsatzbereich der Reihe EKHZ liegt hauptsächlich in Anwendungen mit mittleren Betriebsdrehzahlen. Sie deckt einen Drehmomentbereich von 20 bis 1600 Nm ab und erlaubt maximale Drehzahlen von 3500 U/min bei der minimalen Länge von 50 cm. Sie eignet sich für Wellendurchmesser von 10 bis 100 mm. Allgemein beträgt die erreichbare maximale Länge der Reihe EKHZ drei Meter. Die Reihe EKHZ erlaubt es, Schwingungen effizient abzubauen. Der Grad der Schwingungsdämpfung lässt sich durch die Shorehärte der Ausgleichselemente anpassen. Die verwendeten Kunststoffsterne bieten zwei Vorteile: auch ohne Halbschalenausführung lassen sich die Kupplungen, da steckbar, einfach montieren. Zudem wirkt der Kunststoff thermisch und elektrisch isolierend. Aufgrund der Eigenschaften des verwendeten Materials können diese Kupplungen nur bis 90°C eingesetzt werden, wobei sich das zulässige Übertragungsdrehmoment mit zunehmender Temperatur reduziert.
