Proven constructively revised
The proven power clamping nut of the MC series has been extensively reworked. The successor series MCA offers a considerably more attractive version with larger clamping forces and threaded holes, reduced weight, as well as improved optics and sealing. This often results in the possibility of selecting a smaller, more cost-effective size with the same clamping force and thread.
With a wrench SW 17 instead of SW 95
Despite the simple manual operation with low tightening torque, maximum clamping forces are generated and maximum operational safety is guaranteed by the self-locking mechanism. While the M64 nut is usually required to be tightened with a heavy key of the 95mm key width, this can be done with the MCA clamping nut with a 17 mm key. For this, of course, a special "inner life" is required. This "inner life" is a integrated planetary gear mechanism for the multiplication of the manual tightening moment.
Bench tested
Calculations are prerequisite, endurance tests confirm the results. For example, the revised MCA type nuts were subjected to a continuous load of up to 10,000 load changes on a specially designed test bench. The result confirms the expectations of the design, although the test was subject to tougher conditions than are later in practice.
Optimized inner life
While externally the altered design and the reduced outer dimensions are noticed first, the increased performance data also points to the important changes in the inner life. The previous mounting of the planetary gears by means of bolts has been changed and the powertrain has now been guided over stable claws. This created space for significantly larger screw-in threads, and the performance range or the clamping forces of the clamping nut could be increased by up to 100%. With the new cover form of the clamping nut it was also possible to achieve improved spray protection and increased tightness of the drive mechanism. The tempered steel, as well as a corrosion-resistant surface coating, ensure a long lifespan of these robust clamping elements. With the new versions, clamping screws from M12 to M64 and clamping forces up to 200 KN are standard.
Torque wrench is helpful
Due to the possibility of using a common torque wrench to control the required clamping force relatively precisely via the specific tightening torque, the operational safety can additionally be increased.
An unlimited field of application
The application area of the new clamping nut extends over all fields of the machine construction in which large clamping forces are required or larger diameter screws are used. Thus, e.g. for the economical clamping of pressing and punching tools or for workpiece clamping during machining. But there are also universal applications in steel and jig construction. The mechanical clamping nut MCA is maintenance-free under normal operating conditions and can be used in special versions up to 400 ° C.
