- Comprehensive solution includes both NCM device stack and NCM PC drivers
- Optimized for high-bandwidth broadband networks, such as WiMAX and LTE
- Selected by Tier-1 LTE chipset and OEM manufacturers
Jungo Ltd., a leading provider of connectivity software and driver development tools, today announced the launch of its Network Control Model (NCM) USB solution for high-speed communication devices. The NCM solution, based on Jungo's USBware and DriverCore technologies, is optimized for devices operating on high-speed broadband networks.
The Jungo NCM USB Stack uses the Network Control Model specification from USB-IF, which defines how Ethernet packets can be transferred over USB. The highly optimized interface defined by the specification targets high-speed mobile broadband networks, including HSPA+, LTE and WiMAX.
The Jungo solution consists of two parts: an embedded NCM USB stack for the mobile broadband platform, and a complete set of high-bandwidth NCM USB laptop and PC drivers for Windows, Linux and Mac, which are instrumental in boosting rapid product development of external USB data-cards and embedded USB 4G modules.
The embedded NCM USB stack is part of Jungo’s mature and tested USBware product line, while the PC drivers belong to the market-leading DriverCore product portfolio. Robust and feature-rich, like the other software products in these lines, the NCM USB stack comes with embedded support for power management, selective suspend/resume and various NDIS versions, including NDIS 6.2 and Windows 7 MBN framework.
The Jungo NCM USB stack provides an end-to-end solution for mobile broadband device OEMs (e.g. USB external modems,) high-end laptop manufacturers, and mobile broadband chipset manufacturers interested in upgrading their software and firmware to support NCM. It is being strongly adopted by Tier-1 LTE chipset and OEM manufacturers, some of which are already approaching leading MNOs with designs based on Jungo’s software.
“Several leading chipset manufacturers and OEMs have already deployed products with Jungo’s NCM USB solution,” said Ophir Herbst, General Manager of Jungo Connectivity Software. “Device manufacturers are able to accelerate deployment of products into the 4G mobile broadband market thanks to the maturity of Jungo’s USB product line and the comprehensiveness of the NCM USB solution.”
