A leading worldwide research and advisory firm, Gartner's SSL VPN Magic Quadrant ranks vendors "based on performance for calendar year 2005 through the end of September 2006, and on additional road map and client review received up to the date of publication. Our Magic Quadrant considers which vendors likely will dominate sales and influence technology directions through 2007, as well as which vendors are most visible among clients, generate the greatest number of requests for information and contract review, and account for the most new and ongoing installations in Gartner's client base."
"To remain in the Leaders quadrant," the IPS report states, "these vendors must have demonstrated a track record of delivering successfully in enterprise IPS deployments and winning in competitive assessments. Leaders produce products that provide high signature quality, offer low latency, are innovating with or ahead of customer challenges (such as using endpoint intelligence to make more-efficient detection), and have a range of models. Leaders consistently win selections and have been consistently visible on enterprise shortlists."
"We are pleased to be placed by Gartner in the Leaders' quadrant for both our SSL VPN and our IPS product lines," said Hitesh Sheth, vice president of security products for Juniper Networks. "Juniper Networks continues to drive innovation in the security market. Our success is due to our focus on delivering best-in-class security technologies to our customers. The Secure Access SSL VPN has become the standard remote access solution for our enterprise customers and service providers worldwide and our IDP appliances continue to offer the most comprehensive threat coverage."
