It is planned to present a Kalmar electric forklift truck with 16 tons of lifting capacity and a lithium-ion battery at the West Entrance and a “used” electric forklift truck with 8 tons of lifting capacity at the exhibition stand. Kalmar wants to show what a used / rental Kalmar machine looks like and how it can be given a second and third sustainable life.
All front loaders up to 8 tons are only offered as electric forklifts with 80/120 V. The heavy forklift range from 10 to 33 t load capacity is offered as diesel or alternatively electric. The classic heavy-duty range with load capacities from 33 to currently 72 tons remains as diesel-powered vehicles. These machines are suitable for the heaviest requirements, such as those found in steelworks, the concrete and timber industries, mechanical engineering and the wind power industry.
In November 2024, the first electric empty container stacker went into operation in Hamburg and the electric full container reach stackers are also establishing themselves throughout Central Europe. This enables the Swedish global market leader to significantly reduce its customers' CO² emissions. The range naturally includes adapted charging infrastructure and suitable battery options.
Kalmar's own ROI calculator can be used to precisely calculate the profitability (TCO) for each machine before the investment is made. After all, even in times of high diesel prices, e-vehicles are the cheaper machine. The higher purchase price is offset by significantly lower energy and maintenance costs.
Numerous offers relating to scheduling, service, fleet management and integration into existing IT structures at end customers round off the device hardware. These systems increase efficiency and create seamless integration into data systems.
The fleet management system (Kalmar Insight) is a cloud-based, comprehensive management tool that analyzes the condition, utilization and performance of devices worldwide on a just-in-time basis, processes data and provides recommendations for action.
