Mary Kay was launched onto the Nordic market by Lesley Cosmetics in 1992. In addition to having a network of independent beauty consultants, the makeup and skincare products have been sold via the company’s own online shop since 2003, which processes orders for both the consultants and their customers.
The incoming orders received by the warehouse contain 17 items on average. An efficient solution was sought for these complex orders, one which cut the delivery time and increased the order picking speed and precision. Further requirements included optimizing the flow of goods in the warehouse and introducing ergonomic workstations for the employees.
The use of a Megamat RS 350 from Kardex Remstar in combination with the Power Pick Global warehouse management software gives the customer the desired fast storage system. The items to be removed are indicated by means of an LED bar, which increases the picking accuracy and speed. In addition, the system makes it possible to pick goods and replenish stock levels simultaneously, making the process even more efficient. This has led to higher turnaround figures, resulting in the scrapping of the night shift.
