Die Tester hoben besonders die überragende Erkennungsrate hervor: "Das einfach zu bedienende Software-Paket leistet eine Erkennung von 100 Prozent aller Viren in der Wildlist 8/2007 und schützt den Computer vor Hacker- und Spionage-Angriffen. Der enthaltene Spamfilter blockierte 98,6 Prozent aller zum Test herangezogenen Spam-Mails."
Als Grundlage für die Zertifizierung zog der TÜV seine Anforderungskataloge "Internet-Security, Virenschutz, Firewall und Spamfilter" heran und bewertete das Produkt anhand der Grundsätze der IT-Sicherheit zum derzeitigen Stand der Technik. In all diesen Kriterien empfahl sich Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 für die Zertifizierung.
