Hall: 2, Stand number: 2A17
At LogiMAT, one of the leading international trade fairs for intralogistics, KATHREIN Solutions will be presenting its new Generation 4 readers. These readers feature numerous innovations that enable new, process-optimized logistics applications. Another highlight are the EDGE Line antennas, which made their debut at Logimat in 2024 and have been continuously developed and optimized ever since. At the trade fair stand in Hall 2, Stand 2A17, the team will also be providing advice on its RFID-based identification systems and project implementation for optimizing material flows, shelf systems and gate solutions.
This year, KATHREIN Solutions will once again be offering trade fair visitors an insight into its RFID readers, antennas and transponders. This time, the focus will be on the new fourth generation of the KATHREIN reader family. There are two device variants: a ARU (Antenna Reader Unit with integrated antenna and 3 outputs for external antennas) and a RRU (Reader Unit with 4 outputs for external antennas).
The ARU Gen4 readers are equipped with an integrated adaptive antenna that ensures optimum performance in a wide range of conditions. The antenna has three scalable beams and can digitally and precisely change the width and length of the reading areas in front of the ARU Gen4. Thanks to this technology, data can be reliably captured even in complex environments. Another highlight is the integrated GNSS localization function in the variants with WLAN and 5G connectivity. It enables precise location determination in real time and expands the reader's range of applications: on the one hand, the position of the fixed readers can be queried and checked; on the other hand, mobile readers mounted on forklift trucks can report the coordinates of RFID-tagged pallet cages or pallets during transportation in outdoor areas.
With 10 times the sensitivity of previous models, the Gen4 readers also offer high performance. Data is captured accurately even under the most difficult conditions such as metallic environments. The processing speed of 1100 tags per second ensures maximum efficiency. Whether for inventory management, product traceability in the supply chain, cold chain monitoring or automated processes, the new reader guarantees maximum productivity. In addition to the increase in performance, energy efficiency has also been significantly improved. A 40% reduction in power consumption and a 50% smaller footprint not only reduce operating costs, but also make the Generation 4 reader an environmentally friendly choice.
In addition to the new readers, the EDGE Line antennas will also be the focus of the KATHREIN trade fair stand. The latest antenna family from KATHREIN Solutions revolutionizes the use of UHF RFID antennas for IoT applications. The EDGE Line antennas impress with their outstanding parameters and reduced dimensions. The antennas' low thickness of just 6 mm is striking. This is achieved by completely dispensing with a housing. Nevertheless, protection against moisture and environmental influences is provided. The antennas are IP54-protected and can be used outdoors where splash water is to be expected.
