Die Windows-Echtzeiterweiterung »RealTime Suite« von Kithara Software bewährt sich seit Jahren bei einer Vielzahl von Anwendern. Bei der Erweiterung um das "CAN Module" arbeitet Kithara Software mit starken Partnern zusammen. Mit dem Darmstädter Unternehmen PEAK-System Technik werden gemeinsame Lösungen für die Kommunikation mit CAN in Echtzeit schaffen.

Dabei wird eine breite Palette von CAN-Interfaces von PEAK-System unterstützt, so sämtliche PCI-basierten Interface-Karten und demnächst auch das weit verbreitete USB-nach-CAN-Interface PCAN-USB.

Zwischenspeicher puffern die CAN-Nachrichten beim Senden und Empfangen über eine einfach anwendbare und intuitive API. Anwenderspezifische Echtzeit-Message-Filter lassen sich ebenso installieren wie Fehlerbehandlungsroutinen für bestimmte Bussituationen. Auch ein Listen-Only-Mode ist möglich. Zur einfachen Diagnose wurde der Kithara "Kernel Tracer" erweitert, mit dem der gesamte CAN-Datenverkehr in Mikrosekundenauflösung mitgeschnitten werden kann.

Die Anwender der Kombination aus PCAN-Hardware und der »RealTime Suite« von Kithara Software freuen sich über die herstellerunabhängige Realisierung von Echtzeit-CAN unter Windows. Die Verarbeitung der CAN-Nachrichten im Kithara-Kernel-Treiber erlaubt die sichere und zeitäquidistante CAN-Kommunikation sowie die schnelle Reaktion auf externe Ereignisse.
