The project installs one IPES-0008-4 in each bus, and the PoE switch then is connect to PoE standard IP cameras, a NVR, the ticket system, and a GPRS router. The real time information, including the video, then is transmitted to the remote control center. Lantech high quality PoE switch not only provides stable Ethernet connection among these devices in the project, but also provides the power they need.
The most important reason that this model is chosen is the wide power input range it provides. Different from normal PoE switches' 48VDC power input, the IPES-0008-4, which is designed with unique 24/48V power input, is able to work in harsh environment with low power supply and provide up to 15.4w/port@48VDC to PDs. For most of the vehicles, the power supply will draw a lot of current when starts engine from battery, which may cause the on-board device not able to operate. The IPES-0008-4 can up-convert 24VDC power input to 48VDC and work well with 48VDC PoE IP cameras. Users don't have to install an external booster, which may need extra cost and space.
To meet with the critical industrial network environment, the IPES-0008-4 provides IP30 metal housing and tested under extensive Industrial EMI and Safety standards. It also passed stability testing such as free fall, shock and vibration. The UL Class I Division II certification makes it more reliable for industrial applications. The wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 75°C ensures the switch's durability in the harsh bus environment with the warm weather in Spain.
Lantech is glad to participate in the bus project, which installed 200 units of IPES-0008-4. The Lantech group will keep providing the high-quality PoE solution to our clients.
