LASER COMPONENTS hat DLC-beschichtete IR-Fenster auf Silizium- bzw. Germaniumbasis präsentiert. Die exterm harten Kohlenstoffschichten der Diamond Like Carbon, DLC-, Beschichtung sind besonders haltbar; unbeschadet überstehen sie den Scheibenwischertest TS1888, Windscreen Wiper Test. Gleichzeitig wirkt die Beschichtung als Einfachentspiegelung.

In der Hybrid-DLC-Variante werden die Schichten in einem speziellen Verfahren mit dielektrischen Schichten kombiniert. Hierdurch vereint man die Haltbarkeit der Diamantbeschichtung mit einer deutlich verbesserten Transmission einer dielektrischen Beschichtung.
