Zerstörschwellen diffraktiver optischer Elemente

Holo/ORs diffraktive optischen Elemente, DOEs, werden zur Strahlprofiländerung oder Strahlteilung von Hochleistungslasern eingesetzt. Sie bestehen aus Substraten wie Quarzglas, Saphir oder ZnSe, in die eine Gitterstruktur geätzt wird. Danach werden die DOEs beschichtet - ähnlich einer Laseroptik.

Bis zu welcher Laserleistung die DOEs eingesetzt werden können wurde in der Vergangenheit immer wieder diskutiert: So stellte sich die Frage, ob die Gitterstruktur oder die Beschichtung die Zerstörschwelle limitiere – der Erfahrungswert ließ mutmaßen, dass es die Beschichtung sei.
