LASER COMPONENTS stellt den neuen Silizium-Detektor seines Partners Advanced Photonix, Inc. vor. Die SD138-11-38-211 nutzt ein einzigartiges Design: zwei Silizium- PIN-Photodioden werden vertikal in ein hermetisches TO-5 Gehäuse integriert. Die obere Photodiode, 300 nm - 1100 nm, absorbiert einen Teil des eingestrahlten Lichtes, der andere Teil wird auf die untere Photodiode, 950 nm - 1100 nm, geleitet.

Das Verhältnis der beiden Fotoströme kann beispielsweise zur Überwachung der Farbtemperatur eines Objekts verwendet werden.
