Dass LEDs in Smartphones, Tablets sowie Displays und Sensoren verschiedenster Art zum Einsatz kommen, dürfte hinlänglich bekannt sein - eher unbekannt ist vermutlich, dass sie auch hinter den Kulissen maßgeblich beteiligt sind. Bei Herstellungsprozessen spielen UVA LEDs mit Wellenlängen von 365 nm bis etwa 400 nm eine Rolle: verwendet werden sie zum Aushärten von Klebstoffen.

Bei berührungsempfindlichen Bildschirmen werden bspw. Displayglas, Touchscreen und LCD-Display vollflächig miteinander verbunden. Auch beim Verkleben von DVDs, von Automobil-Elektroniken oder der Kabinenausstattung von Flugzeugen kommen UVA LEDs zum Einsatz. Ein weiteres prominentes Beispiel ist das Verkleben von Laminatböden.

LASER COMPONENTS bietet UV LEDs mit langer Lebensdauer und Leistungen bis zu 4W an. Sie sind als SMD-Packages mit oder ohne Linse aber auch als Chip erhältlich. Folgende Wellenlängen sind verfügbar: 365 nm , 385 nm, 395 nm sowie 405 nm.
