Today, the company employs 120 Sensor People.
The foundation of Leuze electronic Trading (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. in 2006 in Shenzhen was an important step for Leuze to enter the Chinese market. Today, the Chinese subsidiary is already celebrating it’s
15th anniversary. During this time, the company became more than just Leuze’s largest international sales organization: Second only to the production at headquarters in Owen/Teck, southern Germany, the Chinese subsidiary has grown into the largest and most important international production location of the Leuze electronic Group.
Record growth in 2021
Leuze China has grown rapidly in the last 15 years. Since entering the Chinese market in 2006, Leuze has taken advantage of the existing market opportunities with the development strategy "In China, For China" and the consistent pursuit of outstanding quality. As a result, the Chinese sales organization was able to achieve consistent two-digit sales growth for many years. In 2021, Leuze China is on track to reach a new sales record. Compared to the previous year, sales increased 60% by the end of the third quarter of 2021 alone. Matthias Höhl, Vice President Asia at Leuze, believes that this extremely positive development is the result of a clear differentiation and the company’s focus on relevant, thriving market segments.
Industry focus as the key to success
"With China’s industrial modernization, increasing level of consumptions by the population, and the implementation of a series of measures in terms of climate neutrality, Leuze always remained focused on sectors with great market potential," Matthias Höhl explains. Besides intralogistics, these include the packaging industry, machine tools, and the automotive industry. "But medical devices, and especially laboratory automation as well as new energies, lithium batteries and photovoltaics, also play a pivotal role in China," he adds.
In these industries, Leuze China has professional sales and technical service teams as well as many years of in-depth application know-how at its disposal.
Growth means change
Fifteen years are a historic milestone in Leuze’s history, combined with the reorientation of Leuze’s Chines sales organization. In future, Leuze will more heavily invest in local product development, production and logistics as well as in sales service and technical support. "This is the only way for us to meet the needs of the Chinese market and our customers in a timely and efficient manner – it’s the key to success," explains Höhl.
