IBM hat sich zum zweiten Mal in Folge den Preis für den linux-freundlichsten Hardware-Hersteller gesichert. Mark Shuttleworth und sein Unternehmen Canonical dürfen sich über Auszeichnungen als benutzerfreundlichste Linux-Distribution und auch als beste Kombination aus Community und kommerziellem Betrieb freuen. Bereits im vergangenen Jahr hatte Canonical/Ubuntu in zwei Kategorien die Nase vorn.
Der Special Award ging vom Laudator John "Maddog" Hall an Klaus Knopper. Der Erfinder der Knoppix-Distribution folgt damit auf Mark Shuttleworth als Preisträger in der Sonderkategorie.
