Die Messsysteme kommen bei der Optimierung biologischer und chemischer Prozesse zum Einsatz. Dort kann das Mikroklima so stark schwanken, dass die relative Sauerstoffkonzentration, wie sie die Lambdasonde oder die elektrochemische Zelle messen, nicht ausreicht. Dies ist z.B. der Fall bei der Optimierung des Wirkungsgrades von Feuerungsanlagen oder bei der Erhöhung der Umsatzrate in der industriellen Kompostierung.
Die Messsysteme sind z.T. TÜV- und UL-zertifiziert und leicht zu kalibrieren. Sie überwachen sich selbst und melden Fehlfunktionen der Hard- und Software. Die Geräte wurden mehrfach prämiert, unter anderem 2002 mit dem Innovationspreis des Landes Baden-Württemberg „Dr.-Rudolf-Eberle-Preis“ und 2007 in der Kategorie Umwelttechnik mit der „Auszeichnung Innovationspreis 2007 Industrie“.
