As one of the biggest global automotive manufacturers, Ford demands a great deal of its supplier’s performance, especially in respect to product and delivery quality, logistics and research and development achievements. Thus, a multitude of criteria need to be fulfilled permanently, proven by periodical examinations. “For Lumberg Connect, this award is recognition of our successful work for continual amelioration as well as a thank for the high personal commitment of each individual employee”, explains Ralph Wenzler, Sales Manager Automotive. “Especially because we are continually expanding our automotive product range.”
The granting of the award took place end of June 2007 at the Swedish town of Gothenburg, Headquarters of the Volvo Car Corporation. Climax of the granting was the handing over of the Q1 badge by Cecilia Lindblad, Senior Purchaser Infotainment. – At the Lumberg plant in Cloppenburg, Germany, now the flag with the Ford Q1 logo has been hoisted.
The Lumberg Connect GmbH has been a tier 1 supplier to Ford in Europe and Asia Pacific with several product variants in numerous car types of the Ford group, including Ford, Volvo, Mazda, Jaguar and Landrover cars. These products are about connector systems for infotainment packages: Aux-in interfaces for coupling peripheral devices, such as MP3 players, to the on-board audio system of the car.
