Some 500 companies from 30 countries have already booked their stands at inter airport Europe 2007 which will again take place at Munich airport in Germany, from 9 – 12 October 2007. 90% of the total stand space has already been taken at the 16th International Exhibition for Airport Equipment, Technology and Services.
“The constantly growing demand for stand space at the world’s leading exhibition for the airport industry is due to the huge success of the previous show, which was a record event with 563 exhibitors from 31 countries and more than 12,000 visitors from 120 countries,” explains Nicola Hamann, Exhibition Director of inter airport Europe on behalf of the organisers, Mack Brooks Exhibitions. “But it is also a consequence of the challenges the airport industry is facing at the moment: innovative solutions and cutting edge technology are much sought after to enable a more efficient handling and security service; and these products are showcased at inter airport Europe,” says Nicola Hamann.
Although the growth of international air traffic has slightly slowed down, the forecast for Europe for next year is 4.7% and by 2010 the growth rate will still be 4.3% . Recent incidents have made security a major focus for airports striving to offer a better service for the constantly growing number of passengers.
inter airport Europe 2007, the biggest showcase for the airport industry world-wide, encompasses three exhibit sectors: interTERMINAL (infrastructure, products and services used in terminal operations), interDATA (specialist hardware and software for airports) and interRAMP (airfield and airport construction, ground support equipment and services). All three areas will present a wide range of new products and services: systems to fast-track passengers, baggage and freight handling as well as solutions for more efficient and ecologically sensitive operations on the airfield. Innovative ideas for enhanced security and more comfort for passengers within the terminal area can also be expected at the show.
Exhibitors will present their products and systems at this year’s inter airport in an extended hall area. The outdoor area, where large scale vehicles and machinery for operation on the airfield will be displayed, also covers more ground this time.
A survey at the previous inter airport Europe exhibition proved that for exhibitors and visitors equally the high technical level and quality of the exhibits, the professional atmosphere as well as the international content of the show were major criteria for their participation in the event. 60% of the exhibitors and 49% of the visitors at the previous show came from outside Germany.
At this year’s inter airport Europe, Great Britain, France, the USA, the Netherlands, Finland and for the first time Denmark will participate with special national pavilions. Other important exhibitor countries next to Germany are Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden and Norway.
