"The general outlook for the converting industry is currently rather positive. The worldwide growing demand for flexible packaging solutions and added-value products guarantee a relatively stable market situation for the converting industry despite the general economic uncertainty due to the Euro crisis and the political developments in the Middle East,” explains Nicola Hamann, Exhibition Director ICE Europe, on behalf of the organisers, Mack Brooks Exhibitions.
Innovations and practical applications take centre stage
“An important impulse for the competitiveness of this dynamic industry sector emanates from technical innovations. With this year’s theme ‘Ideas and Expertise for Converting Specialists’, innovations and its practical applications are in the focus of ICE Europe 2013. The range extends from the latest processing systems for new materials, innovative adhesives and web coating technologies, efficient solutions for paper and film converting right up to high-tech measuring and control systems,” says Nicola Hamann.
The exhibition profile of ICE Europe includes machines, accessories and systems for coating and laminating, drying/curing, treatment, slitting/rewinding, finishing and flexographic / rotogravure printing. Materials, software, retrofits, factory equipment, control / test and measurement as well as consulting and toll converting services will also be on display.
During ICE Europe 2013 a three-day technical conference will take place, organised by AIMCAL (Association of International Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators) in association with the Fraunhofer IVV Institute. The scheduled program for the conference will take place every day between 10am-12pm and topics will include web coating, laminating and printing, web handling and converting as well as adhesives and adhesion.

New co-located Event for the Corrugated and Folding Carton Industry
For the first time, CCE International 2013, a new trade fair for the corrugated and folding carton industries, will be co-located to ICE Europe. CCE International is presenting raw materials, machines and systems for the production and conversion of corrugated and cartonboard. This new exhibition will take place in Hall B5, directly opposite the halls for ICE Europe.
With regards to visitors, both exhibitions are set to create a strong synergy effect. For many trade visitors, both events will be of interest despite both ICE Europe and CCE International having their own specialised core audience. Both exhibitions are aimed at production specialists as well as packaging professionals and designers from a range of industry sectors such as food and beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and tobacco. Entrance tickets for ICE Europe are also valid for CCE International.
