The Tech Transfer Community gathered in Frankfurt this year, for their annual IPTEC Event. IPTEC acts as a tech transfer meeting point for multinational companies, SMEs, universities and public sector organisations. The third event in this series featured a high profile conference programme, an exhibition and New Technology Presentations, where companies, universities and research institutes presented their innovations to the audience.
Yesterday’s presentation of the prestigious “IPTEC Awards for Excellence in Technology Transfer” was a highlight of the event. The awards went to ‘Max Planck Innovation’ for the category of Public Sector Organisation; to ‘Procter & Gamble’ for the Industry category and the ‘Katholieke Universiteit Leuven’ for the University category. The winners were carefully chosen by the IPTEC Advisory Board comprising some of the most experienced tech transfer professionals in the world. Advisory Board member Marisol Garcia from NASA and James Nurton, editor of the leading IP magazine “Managing Intellectual Property” presented the awards for outstanding achievement in technology transfer and licensing to representatives from the winning organisations. Past winners of the IPTEC Awards include NASA, ESA, Tsinghua University, Stanford University, IBM and Thomson.
Some 200 key players in the field of technology transfer and intellectual property management participated at this year’s IPTEC in Frankfurt. The New Technology Presentations have again attracted much attention from the audience. A wide range of presentations were held in the sectors of Advanced Materials, Environmental Technologies, Medical Technologies, Consumer Goods, IT, Robotics, Energy, Biotechnology and Telecommunications.
