This year 550 exhibitors from 30 countries will showcase their innovative products and services including sophisticated detection systems for liquids and explosives in hand luggage, advanced check-in solutions, modern interior design as well as newly developed electronic vehicles, the latest snow-sweepers and environmentally friendly de-icing systems. With its impressive exhibition range, inter airport Europe is once again set to attract airport professionals from all over the world. Airport operators, airlines, cargo carriers, ground handlers, service providers, architects, consultants and the military value the show as the one-stop-shop for the airport industry. 13,000 trade visitors from 128 countries attended the previous event.
This year’s inter airport Europe is regarded as particularly important by international airport experts, as the show is a trend barometer for the airport industry. Although worldwide air traffic figures continue to show a downward trend - compared with last year, global passenger numbers have dropped by 6% over the first seven months of this year; freight figures by 9% - investment in their future seems to be more important than ever for forward looking airports. In times where competition has become harsher than ever, they are planning ahead, to prepare for the upswing after the crisis.
Airports are currently facing challenges such as cost awareness and environmental sustainability, whilst ensuring highest possible security and customer service standards. A large number of the innovations showcased at this year’s inter airport Europe will focus upon those topics. The comprehensive exhibition profile includes interRAMP (ground support equipment), interTERMINAL (technical terminal installations and services), interDATA (specialised hard and software) and interDESIGN (architecture and furnishings for the terminal).
