The Teal Sheets, which are managed and published by the Aluminum Association, are the comprehensive and reliable source of international wrought aluminum alloy designations and their respective chemical compositions and densities. The new digitalized database combines the exact nominal values of standard information with machine-readable numerical values – allowing users to search, compare and filter data as well as make graphical and statistical evaluations.
The new digitalized Teal Sheets are operated using Matplus EDA®, the next generation materials data and knowledge management system. In the case of Teal Sheets, it is operated as a cost effective SAAS (software as a service) solution. Corporate materials information systems, which can also be implemented on premises using EDA®, are gaining interest in the market. The right information on materials is a key enabler for innovation and cost reduction. In this context, Matplus EDA® is a central hub of materials knowledge that goes far beyond traditional databases. Reference databases, like the association’s Teal Sheets, are frequently used as a starting point for specific corporate materials master data as part of a central knowledge base.
This joint project resulted in a high-pedigree materials reference database with great scope for future expansion. “We’re glad to partner with the experts at Matplus to provide this important information in a new, modern way,” said Charles Johnson, president & CEO of the Aluminum Association. “It is a pleasure to collaborate with Aluminum Association to make this possible – customers benefit from such reliable data sources”, Dr. Uwe Diekmann, CEO of Matplus GmbH, adds.
The Teal Sheets database can be accessed free of charge after registration.
