New MOBA product platform – flexible automation in every area

(PresseBox) (Limburg, )
With the new MOBA product platform, the MOBA Mobile Automation AG is for the first time offering sensors, controllers and HMIs, independent of the system, for flexible application in a wide variety of industries and sectors. Whether in construction machine automation or in production technology - all platform products can be integrated easily into all types of existing systems. According to the "building block" principle, the freely-programmable components can be individually controlled with CAN technology and combined in any way.

Born from the idea of a platform of knowledge common to the MOBA development team, the product platform combines MOBA's know-how in the development and production of components in measuring and control technology. All components of the product platform, with their precise and reliable electronics sealed in a special casting technique paired with robust housing, are optimally suited for applications in harsh environments. The sensors, controllers and HMIs withstand extreme conditions and are protected from dust, vibrations, heat and cold. A further characteristic of the platform products is the unique MOBA design as well as the platform logo.

Optimal solutions - fast and flexible in use

In addition to proven MOBA products, new developments widen the pool of components. An example is the newest platform product, the modular HMImc. Developed from the idea into a product ready for serial production in just one year, the concept offers custom-made operating units to a large customer base. Up to six keyboard, joystick and display modules can be flexibly assembled, depending on the requirement. MOBA can therefore quickly provide even small numbers of units without long development times.

Product diversity for a large customer base

As a first step, MOBA offers 36 components with this platform, including seven controllers, three HMIs and a total of 26 different sensors for measuring inclines, angles and distances and recording weight and temperature values. The MOBA product platform sets standards for components in the mobile automation industry and offers elements to system integrators, engineering offices and original equipment manufacturers which can be integrated into a wide variety of applications. Furthermore, the platform makes offering MOBA customers quick and flexible system solutions possible.

The platform concept will be presented for the first time at SPS/IPC/Drives from the 22nd to the 24th of November, 2011 in Nuremberg, Hall 7, Stall 707.
