It is a daily business in production: unpredicted events undo any planning no matter how good it was. Defective machines cannot produce; a delivery is delayed as material shortages cause problems in production or scrap rates are mounting as quality targets are not met.
In order for employees to deal with such problems and respond even quicker, MPDV is presenting a new highlight as part of the Smart MES Applications (SMA): for the first time smart glasses / weara-bles visualizes crucial information from the Manufacturing Execution System HYDRA. Benefits are compelling: without interrupting work or while walking through production, maintenance engineers, supervisors or quality managers are instantly informed about unforeseen events. Let’s take for in-stance information from the Escalation Management module or other HYDRA MES applications which is shown in a flash. If required, even more details can be displayed in order to directly take specific countermeasures and to solve problems. Once more, MPDV can contribute significantly to help manufacturers on their way to achieve Manufacturing Excellence.
Further information on Smart Glasses and the possibility to experience them is provided at the MPDV trade fair booth, Hannover Messe, hall 7, booth A12.
Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) by MPDV result in more efficient production processes and increased productivity. How they work: data is collected not only from the production sector, but also from the quality and HR sectors, evaluated and displayed virtually in real time. Consequently, designated personnel can respond immediately to malfunctions and take appropriate countermeasures. Many proven functions are available for this purpose, these include, for example, efficient shop floor scheduling functions to control production processes. In addition, extensive evaluations are provided supporting, among others, the formation of individual ratio systems that are the basis for continuous improvement processes (CIP).
The concept for the future MES 4.0 (www.mes40.de) encompasses these fields of action: interoper-ability, flexibility, management support, online capability, integrative data handling, horizontal integration, decentralization, mobility and unified shop floor connectivity.
