Conventional TN-TFTs always guarantee good optical results from only three viewing directions. With the 5.7-inch (14 cm) TX14D23VM5BAA TFT display and the 6.5-inch (17 cm) TX17D01VM5BAA TFT display, this disadvantage is overcome through special optical layers.
The technology, which is similar to in-plane switching (IPS) technology, enables the realization of comparatively cost-effective LCD modules having the same optical performance of conventional displays that are manufactured using VA and IPS technologies. Both TFT-LCDs feature, among other things, a high brightness of 800 cd/m² and a good contrast ratio of 400:1 with the 5.7-inch (14 cm) TX14D23VM5BAA and 350:1 with the 6.5-inch (17 cm) TX17D01VM5BAA. The white LED backlight provides a minimum of 40,000 hours half brightness lifetime for the TX14D23VM5BAA and a minimum of 70,000 hours half brightness lifetime for the TX17D01VM5BAA.
The industry standard 40-pin, 6-bit RGB CMOS interface of the new TFT panels supports a color palette of up to 262,000 colors. The TX17D01VM5BAA is fully compatible with the 6.5 inch (17 cm) TX17D01VM2CAA and TX17D01VM2EAB displays from KOE Europe.
Both the 5.7-inch (14 cm) TX14D23VM5BAA and 6.5-inch (17 cm) TX17D01VM5BAA TFT-LCDs support an operating temperature range of -20°C to +70°C.
