The MSC CXC-BT module family in the compact form factor of 95 x 95mm offers a broad range of interfaces like PCI bus (32 bit), up to eight USB 2.0, LPC, 4 x PCI Express™ x1 Lanes Gen. 2.0 and Gbit Ethernet. There are two SATA (up to 3Gb/s) ports or alternatively one PATA and one SATA interface. Furthermore, a socket for a microSD card is available. Two independent displays can be connected via LCD (LVDS 24 bit, dual-channel) and VGA. Dual-channel DDR3L (1333, low voltage) SDRAM modules with a maximum storage capacity of altogether 8GB can be plugged into the boards.
Today, the MSC CXC-BT COM Express™ Type 2 platform is offered in seven variants. The module based on the quad-core Intel® Atom™ processor E3845 (1.91GHz, 10W TDP) offers highest performance. The boards with dual-core Intel® Atom™ processors E3827 (1.75GHz, 8W TDP), E3826 (1.45GHz, 7W TDP) and E3825 (1.33GHz, 6W TDP) and with single-core Intel® Atom™ E3815 processor (1.46GHz, 5W TDP) for less demanding applications are fully compatible. All Intel® Atom™ processor based modules can be delivered on request for an extended temperature range. Additionally, MSC Technologies supplies powerful computer-on-modules with Intel® Celeron™ N2930 (1.83/2.16GHz, 7.5W TDP) and J1900 (2.00/2.42 GHz,
10W TDP) with four CPU cores. In turbo mode, both Celeron processors can short-term be overclocked. All processors support Intel® 64, the Intel® Virtualization technology and Intel® AES-NI.
The Intel® Atom™ processor's chipset and the powerful Intel® Gen 7 Graphics are integrated into the CPU (SOC). The video decoded hardware acceleration supports H.264, MPEG2, MVC, VC-1, WMV 9 and VP8. DirectX® 1.1, OpenCL™ 1.1 and OpenGL 3.2 are offered.
MSC Technologies supplies carrier boards, memory modules and cooling solutions for its MSC CXC-BT platform.
