The new Starterkit for COM Express Type 10 modules features a universal carrier board for "Mini" modules measuring 55 x 84 mm. This baseboard provides a complete environment to operate and test COM Express modules of the smallest format, and to access most of their interfaces. Next to the connectors for USB 3.0 and 2.0, GbE LAN, audio and others, the board comes with a PCI Express Mini card socket for functional extension and an SD Card slot. HDMI/DVI, DisplayPort and LVDS graphics outputs are available as well as embedded DisplayPort. An integrated 12V power supply and a suitable Heatspreader for the C10M-BT module enable instant operation of the Starterkit. Optionally, TFT Kits with different sizes and resolutions are available with cables which immediately fit the display connectors of the COM Express carrier board.
Any module variant from MSC's range of Type 10 modules with Intel Atom E3800 or Celeron processors can be chosen for the Starterkit. The module line-up includes versions with the E3845 quad-core processor, the dual-core E3827, E3826 and E3825 processors or the single-core E3815. In addition, the modules with the quad-core N2930 or J1900 Celeron processors with their turbo boost mode can offer additional computing performance.
The Starterkit is based on the universal carrier board MSC C10-MB-EV in Mini-ITX format, which has the great advantage of enabling the use of off-the-shelf housings in order to turn the Starterkit into a complete system. Suitable enclosures for Mini-ITX boards are available in abundance on the open market.
