NDS at ANGA Cable 2007 – Cologne, Germany – May 22-24, 2007
NDS will show a comprehensive technology portfolio for securing and enabling media content anytime, anywhere, on any device: Demonstrations at the NDS booth (J8) will centre around the middleware solutions NDS MediaHighway™ and the conditional access and DRM system NDS VideoGuard®. Together or separately, VideoGuard and MediaHighway form the technological basis for securely protecting pay-TV operators’ and content providers’ full range of media and for enabling new, innovative services and applications.
This permits providers to open up new revenue generating potential and to create innovative offers, ranging from traditional television to mobile applications. Content may be used not only on TV and set-top boxes and distributed via multiple networks – NDS showcases solutions for exchanging content between various media devices or – following new user habits – for using content in PC- and Internet-centric environments.
In addition to software solutions for DVRs, NDS also presents security systems and future-oriented applications for PCs, portable media players, mobile phones and portable storage media at ANGA Cable 2007.
Today, NDS MediaHighway, the middleware and integration platform, is actively deployed in more than 57 million set-top boxes worldwide. With IPTV and hybrid distribution networks the technology combines the complete range of digital media usage and design: TV, VOD, DVR, HDTV, content push via broadcast and/or IP, and many more. The software works with open standards such as Flash, HTML, Java, OCAP, and MHP.
At ANGA NDS presents VideoGuard, the world's leading CA system with nearly 73 million active smart cards deployed, in multiple environments and applications: VideoGuard protects access and rights of content on digital set-top boxes as well as on PCs. Also, it can allow reliably protected exchange between these media worlds. Further, NDS offers VideoGuard Mobile and Mobile DRM, complete solutions for standards such as DVB-H and the digital rights management for premium content for mobile networks operators.
EPGs and games by NDS in high resolution provide next generation digital navigation and TV applications. The demonstrations are rounded off by software solutions seamlessly combining specific Internet content with TV-based environments or controlling content management in a home network between TV system and PC.
