NetApp ist ein aktives Mitglied der Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) in USA und Europa. Das Unternehmen ist Gründungsmitglied der SNIA Cloud Storage Initiative, die auf der SNW Fall in Phoenix, Arizona, angekündigt wurde. Darüber hinaus wurde David Dale, Director Industry Standards bei NetApp und anerkannter Experte für Ethernet Storage, zum SNIA Vice-Chairman gewählt.
Cesar Orosco von NetApp wird an der Podiumsdiskussion von APC teilnehmen. Das Thema "IT and Facility Management working together or apart?" passt hervorragend zur These von NetApp, dass beide Unternehmensbereiche die gleiche Linie verfolgen sollten, damit ein ganzheitlicher Green IT-Ansatz verwirklicht werden kann. Mit einer konsolidierten Netzwerklösung wurde der Energieverbrauch für Betrieb und Kühlung um 80% reduziert; der Platzbedarf für die Hardware sank um 75%.
