“Few people realize that we once manufactured grinding wheels. That’s why as experts for cooling lubricants, we feel so well-placed at GrindTec,” said Malte Krone, Head of Product Management at Oemeta Chemische Werke GmbH. At this year’s exhibition, the manufacturer of high-performance cutting and grinding oils as well as high-efficiency cooling lubricants will once again present innovative products for the grinding process that produce little foam or vapour. Among them are GTL oils, the oil-free concentrates FRIGOMET BF 600 and FRIGOMET DP 455 V, as well as NOVAMET 900 B, an emulsion used in grinding processes.
“It is often forgotten that emulsions can also be used during grinding,” emphasised Krone. For example, boron- and formaldehyde-free NOVAMET 900 B not only delivers high-performance lubrication and noticeably longer tool life, it also more effectively removes hydrophobic ultra-fine particles. The preconceived notion that emulsions are unsuitable because they make it difficult to clearly see the machining area is irrelevant for CNC machines, especially those with automated processing.
Powerful oil-free performance
Oil-free FRIGOMET BF 600 und DP 455 V offer outstanding filtration properties and impress with limited residue, good flushing and wetting behaviour, as well as excellent swarf removal. Not only that, but they are boron- and formaldehyde-free. FRIGOMET DP 455 V is also free of bactericide and silicon, and is especially well-suited for surfaces that will be post-treated, such as glass. Many manufacturers, including manufacturers of glass-ceramic cooktops, depend on it because it leaves no residue, meaning that products are reliably ready for subsequent coating. FRIGOMET BF 600 is impressive in its high-performance lubrication, making it suitable for standard machining with a specific cutting edge.
The GTL oils are free of organic nitrogen, aromatic compounds, heavy metals, zinc and chlorine compounds, yet still demonstrate excellent performance characteristics. The flame point is up to 17 percent higher and the volatility as much as 60 percent lower in comparison to conventional mineral or hydrocrack oils, enabling improved industrial safety and reduced consumption. Improved lubricating performance and foaming action reduce wear and tear by up to 20 percent, making processing safer and extending tool life.
GTL oils – perfect for the medical technology industry
According to EN ISO 10993-5:2009, GTL oils are not cytotoxic, which makes them suitable for use in medical technology, particularly for processing surgical implants. OEMETA at GrindTec: Hall 2, Stand 2149
