Special Features for 2018:
The team at optical control has technological advancements up its sleeve once again in 2018. The operation of the OC-SCAN®CCX.3 SMD component counter is now even more intuitive, and the software even closer to meeting the daily needs of electronics manufacturers.
For example, it now features automatic component recognition, which requires neither internet connection nor cloud. Data security is a topic that has been on the minds of industry decision makers since long before the latest Facebook scandal.
The CCX no longer just counts sticks and trays: At SMT in Nuremberg, demonstrators will be showing that it can master the difficult task of counting components in cut tape with over 99.9% accuracy. The component counter is now able to count any form and any size of bundle up to 43 cm in diameter in under 10 seconds.
The CCX will be on show at two different booths at SMT in Nuremberg:
At booth 131 in hall 4, by the Mechatronics & Automation cluster, and at booth 135 in hall 4A, by Selecs. Here you will be able to ask any questions that you may have about the component counter, and be able to X-ray a bundle live on the machine – we have a permit for live use of the X-ray camera.
The OC-SCAN®CCX component counter has been on the market for five years, and is well established throughout the world. It attracted great interest in the spring at Nepcon in Japan, at Apex in San Diego in the USA, at Win Eurasia in Turkey, and at Nepcon in Shanghai, where it was presented to Asian and North American electronics manufacturers for the first time.
The time saving was what attracted many people: Manually counting 200 bundles takes around 17 hours, whereas the CCX can handle the same amount within 40 minutes.
CCX – Making the Difference
The automatic component recognition, which identifies and counts unknown components in approx. 10 seconds without external aid, means that many customers opt for the CCX instead of its direct competitors. Intuitive operation by internal employees and data security ensured through a locally installed, intelligent database guarantee optimum protection of even the most sensitive of data.
The significant benefits of a permanent inventory, cost reductions, increases in productivity, and easy handling created a real buzz in Asia. In Germany, the X-ray scanner is now more or less standard equipment for SMT manufacturing, representing a key aspect on the journey toward Industry 4.0.
Zollner, Hella, Siemens use it in their manufacturing – with great success. These companies are now enjoying efficiency increases in merchandise management, conservation of resources, and a reduction in capital tie-up.
And this is all of great interest on the Asian market, too.
