Nun hat sich das auch bis nach Frankreich herumgesprochen, wo die Erfolgsmodelle deutscher mittelständischer Weltmarktführer große Beachtung finden. Die französische Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques in Paris verleiht Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Hermann Simon einen Preis, den Prix Zerilli-Marimo. Wie bereits bei der Oskar-Patzelt-Stiftung wird Simon für das Buch Les Champions Cachés du XXIe Siècle, der französischen Ausgabe des Bestsellers Hidden Champions des 21. Jahrhunderts, ausgezeichnet.
Simon reiht sich mit seiner Auszeichnung in eine Liste hochrangiger Preisträger ein. So haben beispielsweise Jean-Claude Trichet, bis 2012 Präsident der Europäischen Zentralbank, Michel Camdessus, ehemaliger Direktor des Weltwährungsfonds, sowie Nobelpreisträger Maurice Allais bereits den Prix Zerilli-Marimo erhalten.
