The basic advantage of a switching regulator is its high efficiency in converting the DC voltage. An analog converter partially converts the difference between input and output voltage into heat and is therefore limited in its efficiency. A switching regulator, on the other hand, can achieve a much higher efficiency. This advantage comes into play especially at high output powers, where a switching regulator requires significantly less cooling than an analog regulator.
The PSR1(L)-78xxC impresses here with a high efficiency of up to 96% in the temperature application range of -40 to +85°C. Depending on the type, it also provides a negative output voltage. It is available with output voltages of 3.3V, 5(-5)V, 6.5V, 9V, 12(-12)V, 15(-15)V, each with straight pins or L-angle pins.
As part of our anniversary promotion „25 years of PEAK electronics“, all orders of PSR1(L)-78xxC in February 2023 will receive an additional discount of 5%!
